MONETT, MO – October 26, 2026 – PRESSADVANTAGE –
Monett Veterinary Hospital, an AAHA-accredited, full-service small animal hospital serving southwestern Missouri since 1953, is highlighting the expansion of its weekday doggy daycare service for dog owners seeking consistent daytime care and supervised activity for their pets.
The Monett Veterinary Hospital Doggy Daycare operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., excluding major holidays. During daycare hours, dogs have access to an indoor play area and large outdoor play yards, where they interact with other daycare and boarding guests under the supervision of trained staff. The service is designed to provide regular socialization and supervised physical activity in a monitored environment.

While the program is not a formal training class, it offers structured daytime care for dogs whose owners need reliable supervision or occasional visits. The format allows dogs to engage with other animals while staff observe interactions throughout the day.
To attend daycare, pets must be current on core vaccinations, including DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordetella, as well as a fecal floatation test, which screens for intestinal parasites that can spread between animals. Each of these requirements can be completed on-site at the time of a pet’s daycare appointment if needed, allowing owners to address health prerequisites in a single visit.
“Doggy daycare gives pets a safe place to spend their day while their families are at work or traveling,” said Erin Carnes of Monett Veterinary Hospital. “The supervised play and regular socialization help keep dogs active and engaged, and having trained staff on hand means owners can feel confident their pets are well cared for.”
The vaccination and parasite screening requirements reflect the hospital’s approach to maintaining a healthy group environment. Because daycare brings multiple animals together, the prerequisites are intended to reduce the risk of illness spreading among guests.
“The health requirements are there to protect every dog in our care,” Carnes said. “Because we can complete vaccinations and the fecal test on-site, it is simple for owners to meet the standards before their pet joins the group.”
The daycare service is part of the broader range of care offered by Monett Veterinary Hospital, which includes routine and major surgery, orthopedic surgery, laser and radiowave surgery, radiology, internal medicine, an in-house laboratory, preventive care, grooming, and boarding for both dogs and cats.
Monett Veterinary Hospital was established by Dr. C.J. McCormick in 1953 and has grown from a single-veterinarian practice into a comprehensive animal care facility. The hospital is AAHA-accredited and received the AAHA Commitment to Excellence Award in 2007, as well as recognition through a Veterinary Economics Architectural Award. Located in Monett, Missouri, the hospital serves pet owners throughout the region, including Aurora and surrounding communities, with a focus on supporting the health and quality of life of dogs and cats and their families.
