Monique Farmer, APR, president of Avant Solutions, received two PRSA Women of Impact Awards for Mentor & Coach of the Year and Industry Champion/Thought Leader.

OMAHA, NE, UNITED STATES, August 10, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — OMAHA, Neb., Aug. 10, 2026 — Monique Farmer, APR, president and founder of Avant Solutions, received two Public Relations Society of America Women of Impact Awards Aug. 6, with honors for Mentor & Coach of the Year and Industry Champion/Thought Leader, making her the only honoree recognized in two categories.

“I believe the lessons we learn are meant to be shared,” Farmer said. “I’ve always tried to take what I learn and make it useful for someone else, whether that’s a student, a colleague or another communicator. Being recognized for both thought leadership and mentorship means a great deal because both have been such important parts of how I’ve approached my career and life.”

This is the first year for the awards, which celebrate women whose leadership, innovation and influence are strengthening organizations, advancing the communications profession and creating opportunities for others. Honorees represented a range of career stages and practice areas from across the profession.

Farmer has spent more than two decades contributing to the profession through writing, speaking, teaching, judging and developing tools for communications professionals.

In 2024, she wrote the award-winning Amazon bestseller “Chart Your Path: A 9-Step Method to Getting Unstuck.” She has also written articles for PRSA’s Strategies & Tactics, and her work has been featured in the third edition of Tom Kelleher’s public relations textbook.

Farmer also teaches and mentors the next generation of communicators. She has previously taught at the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. As faculty adviser for UNL’s PRSSA Bateman Team, she helped guide students to a second-place national finish in 2021, the highest in program history at the time.

In 2020, Farmer created Anvil Ready, an online strategic communication planning platform designed to help practitioners develop stronger, more integrated plans using the Research, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation (RPIE) model.

Farmer has a long history of service to PRSA. She has been a member for nearly 20 years and served as president of PRSA Nebraska in 2023. She has developed and supported diversity initiatives as a PRSA Nebraska board member and has volunteered at the national level.
