William Blair today announced that Pete Dalrymple will return to the firm as managing director, vice chair of investment banking. Based in Boston, Dalrymple will advise technology clients and work across William Blair’s global investment banking platform to deepen senior client relationships, support strategic advisory opportunities, and advance the firm’s Technology sector coverage.
Dalrymple previously spent more than 14 years at William Blair, most recently as global head of Technology investment banking from 2020 to 2025 and served for three years on the firm’s executive committee. Earlier in his career, he worked at Canaccord Genuity after he earned a bachelor’s degree from Bates College and an M.B.A. from Northeastern University’s D’Amore-McKim School of Business.
“Pete brings a proven track record of advising technology companies and investors, which is especially important given the major shifts across the sector,” said Matt Zimmer, William Blair’s global head of investment banking. “We are delighted to welcome Pete back and look forward to the impact he will have not only on our clients but on our Technology team and the next generation of talent across William Blair’s global platform. He will be a great mentor and coach for rising stars across our teams.”
Dalrymple will work closely with John Ivey and B.T. Remmert, co-heads of the Technology team, who assumed those roles in 2025.
“William Blair has a distinctive culture, deep sector expertise, and a global advisory platform built around long-term client outcomes,” Dalrymple said. “I am excited to partner with John, B.T., and the entire Technology team to connect innovative, high-growth companies with transformative sources of capital and strategic partnerships.”
Dalrymple’s return reflects William Blair’s continued investment in senior advisory talent and sector specialization across its global investment banking business. The firm’s Technology team advises growth companies, private equity sponsors, and strategic acquirers across software, IT services, financial technology, data and analytics, communications technology, and other technology-enabled sectors.
