CO, UNITED STATES, October 15, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — From Distinguished Toastmaster to Pharmacy Technician Student, Jessica James Continues Building a Career Defined by Tenacity, Service, and Self-Sufficiency

Fort Collins, Colorado — Jessica James is building a meaningful future in healthcare by combining her academic background, leadership experience, passion for advocacy, and exceptional attention to detail. Currently a pharmacy technician student at U.S. Career Institute, Jessica is pursuing a career that allows her to put her strengths to practical use while continuing a family legacy rooted in healthcare and service.

Pharmacy Certification & Academic Progress
Having completed her Pharmacy Technician program in late September with a 92 average, Jessica is currently preparing for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam, which she plans to take before the end of 2026. Her goal is to obtain dual certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through both the PTCB and the National Healthcareer Association (NHA ExCPT).

Book Publishing & Literary Projects
Jessica’s journey as an author reflects her commitment to sharing lessons of resilience and empowerment. She has completed the manuscript for From Mediocre to Distinguished, which chronicles her progression from discouragement in the classroom to earning the prestigious Distinguished Toastmaster title; the book will soon enter the editing phase with Nova Publishers. Additionally, she has authored a second manuscript, Beyond the Comfort Zone, a self-help guide written specifically for the neurodivergent community.

Currently, Jessica is writing her third book, Beyond Distinguished, and assembling all three titles into a unified collection known as the Perpetual Phoenix series.

Looking to the future, Jessica has begun developing two children’s book series centered on disability acceptance, awareness, and allyship: Uniquely Mystical (targeted for ages 4–8) and Unapologetically Mystical (targeted for ages 12+), both planned for publication by 2028.

Family Legacy & Healthcare Roots
Family remains at the absolute core of Jessica’s values. Her late mother, a respected nurse who passed away in 2024 from kidney failure, played a pivotal role in shaping her perspective. While Jessica initially considered nursing, her mother encouraged her to find a path where she could truly thrive. That advice permitted Jessica to pursue pharmacy technology, aligning her strengths with a family tradition that includes her great aunt, a retired nurse in Florida, and her aunt, a hospital administrator in Washington, D.C.

Educational Background & Skills
Jessica earned a Bachelor of Science in Spanish Language and Literature from Buffalo State University in 2011 and a second Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Pre-Professional Health from SUNY Brockport in 2017. Her training covers medical terminology, compliance, workflow coordination, and confidential record management. As a person on the autism spectrum, Jessica leverages her exceptional precision to ensure accuracy in medication handling and patient communication.

Leadership & Community Advocacy
A Distinguished Toastmaster following 13 years of dedication, Jessica also completed the year-long Leadership Greater Syracuse program, led volunteer efforts for the Central New York Food Bank, and serves on the NYS Autism Spectrum Disorders Advisory Board. Through her advocacy work—including committee leadership for the Syracuse Autism Speaks Walk—she champions autism awareness, acceptance, action, and allyship.

Her philosophy centers on self-sufficiency and resilience: life is 10% what happens and 90% how one responds. As she advances her healthcare career, writes, and expands her advocacy work, Jessica continues to demonstrate that purpose and determination create their own path to success.
